P&M Corporate Finance (PMCF) is pleased to announce that it served as exclusive financial advisor to CM Packaging Group, Inc. (CM) in its strategic sale to D&W Fine Pack LLC (D&W), a portfolio holding of Mid Oaks Investments, LLC (Mid Oaks). Based in Lake Zurich, Illinois, CM is a leading manufacturer of thermoformed plastic and aluminum packaging serving the restaurant, grocery, bakery, produce, and food processor markets. Comprised of three business units, CM Packaging, Stone Plastics, and Packaging Direct, CM will complement the D&W product offering, with both stock and custom products, and add five manufacturing locations. “D&W is committed to being a full-service supplier for its customers,” noted Mark Staton, President and CEO of D&W Fine Pack. “Adding CM’s offerings to our substantial product suite allows us to present customers with greater choice and flexibility to meet evolving demands in the foodservice and food packaging markets.” Following the acquisition, revenues will approach $400 million. The company will employ 1,600 and operate from 11 locations in the U.S. and Canada.
“CM could not have taken a better step in its evolution. From our origin in 1898 through today’s announcement we have been focused on meeting and exceeding the expectations of our customers,” stated Mark Faber, CEO of CM Packaging Group. “Combined with D&W, and our combined extensive manufacturing and distribution footprint, we will be in an even better position to serve our valued customers and offer opportunity to our employees.”
CM selected PMCF’s Plastics & Packaging Group to serve as its exclusive financial advisor and help the Company assess its strategic options including a potential sale. “We have talked to several investment bankers that specialize in the plastics and packaging sector over the years and I believe that John Hart and the PMCF team are the best in the industry. We were very pleased with the services they provided and would highly recommend them to other plastics and packaging companies considering a potential M&A transaction” said Mark Faber, CEO of CM Packaging Group.
