PMCF Investment Banking (“PMCF”) is pleased to announce that it served as the exclusive financial advisor to CMG Plastics (“CMG” or the “Company”) on its acquisition by Berry Global Group, Inc. (NYSE: BERY) (“Berry”).
With production facilities in Somerville, NJ, and Brantford, ON, Canada, and a team of approximately 170 employees, CMG Plastics will enhance Berry’s capabilities in producing containers, bottles, closures, and specialty products. Recognized for its dedication to quality, collaboration, and outstanding customer service, CMG Plastics brings extensive expertise and a strong reputation for serving top CPG brands.
As a leading North American producer of packaging components, Berry strengthens its position in injection and blow molding with this acquisition. The addition of CMG Plastics broadens Berry’s product offerings in the food, beverage, and personal care markets. Moreover, CMG’s Brantford, Ontario facility will allow Berry to extend its reach into a new region, enhancing its market presence.
“This partnership with CMG Plastics enables us to expand our product and service offerings to better meet the needs of our North American clients. We’re excited to welcome the CMG team to Berry and to begin integrating the best practices from both organizations,” said Jason Holsinger, EVP and General Manager, Containers at Berry Global.
CMG was formed through the merger of Duerr Tool and Die and Custom Molders Corporation in 2006. The existing leadership team will remain with the business post-transaction.
Joe Caro, Co-Owner, President and CEO of CMG, commented, “Joining forces with Berry marks an exciting new chapter for our business. This acquisition allows us to combine our customer-first approach and diverse portfolio of products with Berry’s extensive resources and global reach, which we believe will ultimately create more value for our customers and employees. We are excited for what the combination will bring and look forward to being a part of it.”
PMCF’s Plastics & Packaging Group, led by John Hart, was selected to serve as the Company’s exclusive financial advisor/investment banker in the transaction. Joe commented, “We first connected with John over a decade ago, and he has been a trusted advisor to us for many years. John and his team are true experts in the packaging industry and provided invaluable guidance to us as we grew CMG Plastics into the company it is today. They were instrumental in helping us achieve all of our objectives in this transaction. We would highly recommend them to other packaging companies considering a transaction in the short or long-term.”
John Hart, Managing Director and leader of PMCF’s Plastics & Packaging Group also commented on the transaction, “It has been a privilege to work with the shareholders of CMG Plastics for many years and play a small role in the growth and success of their business. It became very clear early in the process that Berry was the best fit for the CMG shareholders. We were pleased to put together a successful transaction that worked well for both companies.”
