P&M Corporate Finance, LLC (“PMCF”), a U.S. registered broker/dealer, is an investment bank providing merger and acquisition services to middle market companies throughout North America, Europe and Asia. Our focus is on providing exceptional M&A advisory services on transactions valued up to $500 million. At the same time, we maintain a culture of independence and senior-level involvement that supports our middle-market clients and their financial needs.

Your Role

PMCF continues to experience significant growth, and we are looking to add a talented Human Resources Business Partner to perform the daily HR-related functions including recruiting, onboarding, compensation, benefits, performance management, learning and development, and staff relations in addition to working with the President to understand and execute the organization’s HR and talent strategy. The position leverages partnerships with Plante Moran HR team members.

Your work will include, but not be limited to:

  • Partners with the President and the Plante Moran HR liaison to manage tasks and processes required to administer and execute human resource programs including but not limited to learning and development; talent acquisition and onboarding; compensation, benefits, and leaves; and staff relations.

  • Learning & Development
    • Plans for and manages the performance review process.
    • Participates in evaluation and monitoring of training programs to ensure success. Follows up to ensure training objectives are met.
    • Reviews, tracks, and documents compliance with mandatory and non-mandatory training, continuing education, and work assessments. This may include safety training, anti-harassment training, professional licensure, and aptitude exams and certifications.
  • Talent Acquisition and Onboarding
    • Recruits, interviews, and facilitates the hiring of qualified job applicants for open positions; collaborates with departmental managers to understand skills and competencies required for openings.
    • Conducts or acquires background checks and employee eligibility verifications.
    • Implements new hire orientation and employee recognition programs.
    • Engages with third party recruiters to find talent for key positions.
  • Compensation and Benefits
    • Administers health and welfare plans, including enrollments, changes and terminations. Processes required documents through payroll and insurance providers to ensure accurate record-keeping and proper deductions.
    • Administers leaves of absence in partnership with the Plante Moran HR liaison and third-party vendors.
    • Execute on annual compensation and bonus processes as directed by President.
  • Staff Relations
    • Handles employment-related inquiries from applicants, employees, and supervisors, referring complex and/or sensitive matters to the appropriate staff.
    • Attends and participates in employee disciplinary meetings, terminations, and investigations.
    • Maintains compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommended best practices; reviews policies and practices to maintain compliance.
    • Maintains knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Education/Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field required.
  • At least 5-10 years of human resource experience with some management experience preferred.

  • Role is expected to work approx. 30+ hours a week.

  • Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and to delegate them when appropriate.
  • Ability to act with integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality.
  • Thorough knowledge of employment-related laws and regulations.
  • Proficiency with or the ability to quickly learn the organization’s HRIS and talent management systems.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
